Zeolite Premium Aqua Plus grain size 0.5 - 1 mm (25 kg)
Molecular sieve for mechanical filtration
Despite the widespread use of sand and carbon, zeolite is more effective than sand and carbon in suitable sizes and quantities. Sand filters are capable of filtering particles down to 20-40 microns. Zeolite, however, can filter particles down to 4 microns. In addition, filters with zeolite reduce the backwashing requirement by half.
Chemical filtration through cation exchange
Zeolites have high cation exchange capacities. Ammonia (NH4), heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd, Zn, Co, Cr, Mn and Fe; Pb, Cu up to 97%), toxins, low radioactive elements (Cs, Co, Sr, Ag), petrochemicals are adsorbed by zeolite clinoptilolite.
Biological filtration Nitrification
Biological filtration works with natural bacterial growth, which mineralises nitrogen components. The large surface area provided by zeolite is perfect for autotrophic bacterial colonies that convert ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate through aerobic and anaerobic nitrification.
Thanks to its high cation exchange, its large surface area, its highly porous crystal structure, its environmentally friendly composition and its low cost, it offers a wide range of applications for water treatment.
