The cutting board - end-grain wood is the "better" wood
Wood type: Apple tree
Mesurements: 380 x 682 mm
My end-grain wood cutting boards are tools suitable for everyday use with high aesthetic value.
The hand-picked boards are carefully straightened and finely planed. Narrow strips are then sawn and the wood is opened like a book. The structures and colour gradients thus exposed are carefully sorted and then glued together again. This creates wonderful, personal, unique pieces that look as if they have been painted.
All cutting boards are perfectly fine sanded and treated several times with natural oils and waxes.
For optimal handling, rubber feet are attached to the underside. These ensure an optimal grip on the worktop, keep the cutting board from stalling and help to grip the board.
Unlike one-piece cutting boards, the wood fibre is not "cut" during cutting. The blade slides between the standing fibres as if through a very dense brush. This also keeps the knife blades sharp longer and the surface of the cutting board is not damaged. Possible cut marks and stains gradually disappear with regular care.
A regularly oiled end-grain wood cutting board is convincing due to its unbelievable longevity, permanent shape stability, the firm feeling of cutting, gentle knife sharpening, anti-bacterial effect and wonderful aesthetics and feel.
For care I recommend the regular use of Renuwell "Wood Butter".
