It all began more than half a century ago when Mr. Domenico Gioia bought a grocery store from an Italian-American. In the new shop he didn't only sell various products, but also roasted green coffee from his own blends, which he filled into handmade packages. Passion and dedication are still the main drivers of the roastery today. Nowadays Caffè Gioia is represented in more than 40 countries on all five continents.
The company is run by the third generation of the Gioia family - for over seventy years.
What makes the products so special?
Caffè Gioia Organic Coffee 100% Arabica is made from 100% Peruvian coffee of the Arabica variety. The coffee cherries grow in the shade of the Amazon forests and are cultivated exclusively according to organic standards, without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
It is a first-class gourmet coffee, hand-picked, where only the ripe cherries or stone fruits are selected. The ripening process breaks down the bitter substances within the coffee bean - the elaborate picking method guarantees that only the ripe fruit is processed further.
After harvesting, the bean is stripped, washed and dried in the sun. Coffee roasting is carried out with hot air without contaminating the beans with the combustion vapours, which often happens with traditional roasters.
In the cup you will find a sweet and very aromatic taste, with a light body and a natural low caffeine content.
