CLEARLINE Activated Carbon Filter 5 µm – Better Taste, Less Chlorine
Good drinking water shouldn't come with an unpleasant chlorine smell or an unwanted aftertaste. The CLEARLINE activated carbon filter tackles both. Its carbon medium reduces chlorine and certain substances responsible for unwanted tastes and odours, while providing nominal particle filtration down to 5 microns.
Installed beneath your kitchen sink using a compatible CLEARLINE filter head, the cartridge treats cold water before it reaches your existing tap. No additional drinking-water tap is needed, and nothing changes about the way you use your kitchen.
Activated Carbon and Silver – Two Distinct Functions
Activated carbon contains an extensive network of microscopic pores. Certain substances in water adhere to its surface through a process known as adsorption. This established filtration method is widely used to improve the taste and smell of drinking water.
The CLEARLINE cartridge also contains a silver additive, giving the filter medium bacteriostatic properties. This treatment is intended to inhibit bacterial growth within the filter medium. It does not disinfect the water or guarantee the removal of harmful microorganisms.
Fine Filtration for Everyday Drinking Water
With a nominal filtration rating of 5 µm, the cartridge combines the adsorption properties of activated carbon with mechanical particle retention.
The manufacturer specifies a total filtration capacity of up to 18,000 litres. The bacteriostatic function has a separate stated capacity of 8,000 litres. These figures refer to different properties and should not be confused.
Actual service life depends on water quality, consumption and operating conditions.
Replace the Cartridge, Keep the Filter Head
The CLEARLINE cartridge connects to a compatible filter head through a practical bayonet fitting. When replacement is due, the cartridge can be exchanged without replacing the filter head or altering the existing plumbing.
It's a straightforward, affordable way to add an extra filtration stage to your drinking water supply, without investing in a more elaborate system.

First Use and Cartridge Replacement
Before first use, flush approximately 10 litres of water through the new cartridge.
Replace the cartridge after a maximum of 12 months or when its stated filtration capacity has been reached, whichever comes first. An earlier replacement may be necessary if the water flow decreases significantly.
Important: The CLEARLINE activated carbon filter is intended exclusively for cold, microbiologically safe drinking water. The bacteriostatic treatment of the filter medium is not a substitute for drinking-water disinfection.
