CLEARLINE Ultrafiltration Filter 0.005 µm – Filtration Beyond the Visible
Some of the smallest particles in water are far too fine to see. The CLEARLINE hollow-fibre ultrafiltration cartridge is designed to retain exceptionally fine particles and certain microbiological contaminants through a physical membrane filtration process. Its nominal filtration rating is just 0.005 microns – equivalent to 5 nanometres.
Fitted to a compatible CLEARLINE filter head beneath your kitchen sink, the cartridge filters cold water before it reaches your existing tap. No separate drinking-water tap or changes to your worktop are required.
How Hollow-Fibre Ultrafiltration Works
Inside the cartridge, hollow-fibre membranes act as a physical barrier. Water passes through the membrane structure while particles that cannot pass through are retained.
Unlike activated carbon, which works primarily through adsorption, ultrafiltration separates substances according to the membrane's retention characteristics.
The CLEARLINE membrane is designed to reduce particles, bacteria and endotoxins. Actual retention performance depends on the substances involved, membrane integrity and operating conditions.
Fine Filtration Without Removing Dissolved Minerals
Ultrafiltration works differently from reverse osmosis. It is not designed to remove dissolved mineral salts from drinking water.
This makes it a suitable filtration technology where fine particle retention is the priority rather than reducing the overall concentration of dissolved substances.
It is important to distinguish between particle filtration and chemical adsorption. The CLEARLINE ultrafiltration cartridge is not a substitute for activated carbon when the aim is to reduce chlorine, unwanted tastes or odours.
Simple to Install. Easy to Replace.
The cartridge connects to a compatible CLEARLINE filter head using a practical bayonet fitting. The filter head is installed in the cold-water supply beneath your sink, allowing you to continue using your existing kitchen tap.
When the cartridge reaches the end of its service life, it can be replaced without changing the filter head or modifying the plumbing.

First Use and Cartridge Replacement
Before first use, flush approximately 10 litres of water through the new cartridge.
Replace the cartridge when its stated service life of 10,000 litres has been reached. Earlier replacement may be necessary if the water flow decreases significantly or the water contains an unusually high concentration of suspended particles.
Important Information
The CLEARLINE ultrafiltration cartridge is intended exclusively for cold, microbiologically safe drinking water. It is not designed to disinfect unsafe water supplies.
Please note: A nominal filtration rating describes a membrane characteristic and does not, by itself, establish a guaranteed removal rate for individual microorganisms, viruses or chemical contaminants.
